Foolish guarantee from Gloucester coach?

Is Redpath too confident?
Wednesday 16 December 2009
The shape of the ball alone means that one bounce going the wrong way can be the difference between winning and losing on any given day, with luck often having as much a part to play as skill.
But Gloucester coach Bryan Redpath doesn't seem to be too aware of that fact, as he's decided to go and promise that his team will defeat Glasgow in the Heineken Cup on Sunday.
Managing director of the club Ken Nottage told the BBC: "In my discussions with Bryan Redpath he has openly said: 'I can guarantee we will beat Glasgow at the weekend'."
Even if you set aside the fact that Gloucester lost 33-11 to the Warriors in the competition last Friday, the fact remains that the Scottish side are top of the Magners League and no easy target.
It will be Gloucester's 50th Heineken Cup match, but if they don't mark the occasion with a victory Redpath is going to end up looking very stupid indeed.
