Premier Rugby has stepped in to sort out the row between Northampton and Saracens over the Tongan prop Soane Tonga'uiha nicknamed "Tiny".

Saracens had previously announced a five year deal to sign Tiny two months ago when Northampton gazumped Saracens by announcing the prop had signed a three year contract extension for them.

It appears that Tonga'uiha had a last minute change of heart and decided he would prefer to stay at the Saints.

Saracens are maintaining their position that Soane signed a contract a few months ago that is legally binding and they fully intend to hold him to it.

Premier Rugby have stepped into the row and gave a statement this morning as follows:

"Premier Rugby met this morning with Northampton Saints and Saracens to review the issues in dispute over the contractual situation of Soane Tonga'uiha.

"The dispute will now be heard by a formal Panel. The date of the Panel will be announced in due course.

"Northampton Saints and Saracens have agreed to make no further comment until the conclusion of that meeting."
