England flanker Lewis Moody is strongly considering calling time on his Leicester career and making one last big-money move to France.

The flanker, who was easily England's outstanding player in the autumn tests, is now 31 and time is running out if he is to gain one last contract to guarantee him a healthy retirement pot.

Moody told the Times that the allure of France would be hard to resist but a move is still a difficult decision to make, as he has been at Leicester since the age of 14 and in the first team since 17.

"But at some point in your career you have to be selfish and say, 'you have to do what's best for your family'. Sometimes that's looking at options that are out there. We'll cross that bridge when it comes," he said.

A trip across the channel would mean following in the footsteps of England teammates Steve Thompson, James Haskell and Jonny Wilkinson, the latter of whom has enjoyed something of a career resurgence at Toulon, but is it the best option for a man arguably at the peak of his powers?ADNFCR-2652-ID-19574561-ADNFCR
