Guinness Premiership > Leicester Tigers

Dan Hipkiss scored the break away try to break Saracens hearts and win what has been described as the greatest Guinness Premiership final ever for the Leicester Tigers.

The Tigers have retained the Premiership crown for the second year running, although not without a monumental fight to keep it.

Saracens roared back from a nine point second half defecit to lead 26-27 with four minutes remaining on the clock.

Tigers fly half Toby Flood sent the restart straight back at Saracens with the Leicester players hunting down the ball.  Scott Hamilton claimed the restart and fed the ball to Hipkiss who got tackled high by Glen Jackson.

The penalty was awarded to the Tigers and the Saracens side seemed to freeze, Hipkiss however didn't and raced away under the posts whilst the referee was still playing the advantage.

Sarries could not come back from such a blow and despite the late opportunity for a catch and drive from a line out deep in Tiger territory, Leicester held on to secure the win.
