Former British & Irish Lions and Scotland legend Andy Irvine has refused to rule out a role with the British Lions on their tour of Australia in 2013.

Irvine would be taking over the role from Welshman Gerald Davies who ran the tour in South Africa last year in 2009.

When asked about his involvement with the Lions Irvine refused to be drawn, but dropped a number of hints that he may well be involved "It is a possibility but early days yet."

Dropping the biggest hint yet Irvine added "It is just somebody putting two and two together and they might get four... or they might get seven

"We've not even had our first meeting of the season yet."

The British & Irish Lions will be touring Australia in 2013 and the tour is expected to start with a historic match in Hong Kong before moving on to a three test series against the Wallabies.
