The world's best backs

The Irish talisman scored with the final play at Croke Park
Monday 16 November 2009
9. Chris Cusiter (Scotland)
Under pressure as he competes for both the number nine jersey and the captaincy, he led well and provided the spark Scotland will desperately need against tougher opposition.
10. Dan Biggar (Wales)
Talked a good game beforehand, but was able to back it up with an exciting performance that included a perfect cross-field kick for Halfpenny's early try.
11. Drew Mitchell (Australia)
Reacted quickly for the Wallabies' first try, was strong with ball in hand and in cover defence.
12. Luke McAlister (New Zealand)
His boot was the difference between the All Blacks and the Azzurri as he kicked five penalties at the San Siro, but he ran well too.
13. Brian O'Driscoll (Ireland)
A relatively quiet outing by the standards of the latest international centurion, but BOD is still a world-class player and proved why he remains the go-to man as he picked the perfect line for Ireland's late try.
14. Leigh Halfpenny (Wales)
Not a great weekend for wingers in general, but the youngster's timing was spot-on for Wales' early score and he made some telling breaks that could have led to more.
15. Rob Kearney (Ireland)
Having laid down a marker on the Lions tour, he showed why he should be considered one of the world's best full-backs with a solid display at the back - running well and kicking at the right times.
