Good news for world rugby this week, as All Black legend Jonah Lomu has returned to the field.

However, it may be short-lived, as the 34-year-old has said the two-year deal he signed with Marseille is likely to be his last.

The man responsible for bringing the sport to a wider audience during the 1990s may not have been on the scoresheet on his first appearance for the French third-division side, but his return after undergoing a kidney transplant a few years back is certainly a welcome one.

Lomu lined up at centre for a 63-18 win over Montmelian and appears to have been more of a decoy than anything else.

But he was satisfied with the performance and said after the game: "I need to feel more confident and be able to communicate with my team-mates better, but this was a first match and I wasn't expecting miracles. I did my best."
