Samoan big hits 'will be legal'

It seems Samoa have decided that playing within the rules is the best way to beat Wales this weekend.

The South Sea Islanders are of course known for their physical presence, but George Stowers told the South Wales Echo that discipline is going to be key to the game.

Samoa famously defeated Wales in Cardiff at the 1991 and 1999 World Cups and the current crop of players will believe they have a chance of repeating the feat at the Millennium Stadium.

And Stowers reckons they can do so as long as they don't overstep the mark in the contact area - although expect the hosts to come off worse for wear, regardless of the final score.

"Samoans are known for their big hits and these tackles are second nature to us," said the London Irish back row. "But I will encourage our boys to keep things legal this time."
