Wales threw away a huge 13 point lead against the World Champion Springboks to lose 31-34 at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday evening.

Wales head coach Warren Gatland moaned about his sides lack of control and dscipline in letting the lead go.  "We were outstanding for 25 minutes and controlling it at 16-3 up, then we just handed them the game.  Ill-discipline let them back into it and we gave them the game on a plate."

In a forty minute period either side of the break, South Africa piled on 28 points to Wales' 3 points which gave Springboks the platform to steal the game.

Gatland complained "South Africa don't make mistakes, it is just about being accurate, not making mistakes and doing the the simple things. We just went through a poor period and of course the other side will come back into the game.

"We lost three line-outs in a row, we had a couple of turnovers at the breakdown and at 16-3 we gave away a stupid penalty through Jonathan Thomas that gave them a bit of momentum. We also missed a couple of tackles and it was disappointing."

Wales also suffered the double disappointment of possibly losing flanker Sam Warburton who loos set to miss their two test tour of New Zealand this month.  Warburton suffered a jaw injury in the match and remains a doubt for the tour.
