Welsh rugby's perma-tanned hero Gavin Henson has finally indicated he is ready to return from exile and begin playing professional rugby once again.

Henson has been on self-imposed leave for all rugby for the past year following a succession of injuries keeping him out of all forms of the game for over a year.

The former British & Irish Lion has indicated to his club boss Mike Cuddy at the Ospreys that he is ready for a return to action next year "He has told me he will be back next season and playing before the end of the year.

Gavin has been honest with me all along. All the injuries, especially the prolonged ones over his groin and Achilles tendon, got him down.

"He took a break and now he is feeling all the better for it"

Henson's return will be welcome news for Wales boss Warren Gatland who recently commented that Henson would be a huge loss to the game if he did not return.

Gavin Henson recently got enagaged to singer and welsh icon Charlotte Church.  He flew Church to Cornwall by helicopter and popped the question at a local restaurant.
