Objections raised over Good Friday Munster-Leinster match

O'Gara's Munster side will have to play on Good Friday
Thursday 11 March 2010
The tie will see Ireland's two biggest clubs go head-to-head - usually an occasion celebrated by the downing of a few pints in the pub - but bars and pubs do not open in Ireland on the Holy Day, which has caused much debate.
David Jordan, Celtic Rugby director, told the BBC that the game had been arranged for April 2nd following a request from Leinster, due to the Heineken Cup quarter final matches taking place a week later.
Mr Jordan explained: "The role of Celtic Rugby is to ensure that all of our teams and players succeed in all the rugby environments they are involved with. We have to take a rugby perspective on this, it is important they are played with full strength teams."
A spokesman for Munster told the Belfast Telegraph that the club had tried its hardest to reschedule the game for the following day, but requests were turned down.
