Gavin Henson could be the next high-profile player to make his way to rugby league after the most recent convert Gareth Thomas talked up his chances.

Thomas made the switch to Crusaders RL recently after leaving Cardiff Blues and said that Henson would be a perfect for the other code.

Responding to rumours that convicted drink driver Andy Powell could also be on his way to the Wrexham-based outfit, Thomas said he felt that both men would be a "perfect fit" for league.

"Although I know absolutely nothing about the rumours I know for a fact that Gavin is out of rugby and I am a big fan of his and I am sure that he could attract a lot of support and do great things on the field," Thomas told the Daily Telegraph.

Powell may be looking for an outlet after sparking controversy by being found to be drink driving a golf buggy down the M4 in the early hours of the morning, resulting in his subsequent banning from the Wales international side.
