Ospreys could become one of European rugby's powerhouse teams, provided they get the support from fans.

That's the suggestion of skipper Ryan Jones, who has challenged supporters to match the enthusiasm he saw in France at the weekend.

The Welsh region suffered a 27-7 defeat at the hands of Clermont, with Jones noting that the crowd was "intimidating".

And with Leicester Tigers arriving for a Heineken Cup showdown that is a must-win for both teams this Saturday, he wants to see something similar from Ospreys followers.

Commenting on the boost the 16th man can give, Jones said every side in European rugby is looking to generate a rousing atmosphere.

"If we could create that at home we would be going some way to becoming one of the great teams in Europe," he added.

Meanwhile, scrum-half Mike Phillips could be set to return to action in just over a month's time, having been sidelined through injury since October.
