New Zealand have confirmed that the Vuvuzela, South African football's horn instrument, is unlikely to be permitted in any of the stadiums at next years Rugby World Cup.

The horns have been in concstant use throughout this years football world cup in South Africa and have been a source of much controversy throughout the competition.

New Zealand have already banned the instrument from this weekends opening Tri Nations fixture against South Africa at Eden Park, and it is thought the ban will be extended to the World Cup.

Eden Parks Cheif Executive David Kennedy said "I think it's a judgment call on whether to let in certain items.  There are 25,000 people expected to turn up to the Test match this weekend and any vuvuzelas brought to the venue will be confiscated."

The Rugby World Cup starts on 9th September 2011 next year with the hosts New Zealand facing Tonga in the opening match, also at Eden Park.
