Charlie Hodgson has been called up by England as cover for Jonny Wilkinson for this weekend's final Six Nations match against France in Paris.

Wilkinson took a blow to the head at Murrayfield last weekend and had to leave the field, with Martin Johnson opting to bring in Hodgson at number ten in case international rugby's record points scorer does not recover in time.

Ugo Monye looks to have made a remarkable recovery since the game in Edinburgh, however, after being stretchered off in the second half with a neck injury - an incident made even more eventful when the vehicle set to take him off the field broke down and had to be pushed off the pitch by the England players.

"Jonny Wilkinson is being treated and reviewed by the England medical team along with Ugo Monye, who is making good progress from the neck injury he sustained in the same game," the RFU said.

Scotland coach Andy Robinson has had injury problems of his own following Saturday's bruising encounter, with Kelly Brown, Euan Murray, Nick De Luca, Max Evans, Hugo Southwell and Phil Godman all doubts for the final game against Ireland, forcing the him to delay naming his side for the match.
