Lewis Moody has been dropped form Martin Johnson's England side and will be replaced by Joe Worsley for Saturday's match against Scotland.

Worsley will come in at openside flanker after Johnson decided that the Leicester man was not the right player to deal with the threat of Scotland at Murrayfield.

"It was a very tough call. It is not a reflection at all on how Lewis has played. It is more of a reflection on the strength and depth of the players we have in the squad," Johnson explained.

He added that Worsley, who will win his 76th England cap in Edinburgh, has the strong defence and ball carrying skills to deal with Scotland's offence but said Moody will be on the bench and able to make an impact later in the game.

Ben Youngs may make his debut for England on Saturday, in place of London Irish man Paul Hodgson, while Young's former under-20 team mate Courtney Lawes may also make an appearance.
