After going a whole year undefeated, Ireland have every right to be confident about the upcoming Six Nations and Brian O'Driscoll has said the team are setting their sights on the holy grail of European rugby - the double Grand Slam.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, the Irish captain revealed that last year's successes only increased their taste for victory, which is likely to be unwelcome news for the Italians, who travel to Croke Park for the opening game of the tournament on February 6th.

"I enjoyed the trappings that went with the Grand Slam, from the celebrations among the players to the general feeling across the country. Doing it again would be better than not doing it again, so I'd say it's probably heightened our ambition," O'Driscoll said.

While the outside centre said the team will not be underestimating the Italians, he is sure to have one eye on the game at the Stade de France on February 13th and the potential banana skin of England at Twickenham on February 27th.

O'Driscoll noted that the tournament "owes Ireland nothing", however, and vowed to keep his concentration as the side look to climb even higher than their current world ranking of fourth.
