The Australian-born Scot was influential in last weekend's victory against Ireland at Croke Park and can be a key figure in ensuring Scotland's pace and power is fully utilised in the coming years, said Kevin Ferrie, writing for the Herald.
According to the pundit, the weekend encounter, which saw Scotland pick up their first victory in Dublin for ten years, only serves to highlight how Parks should have been installed as playmaker from the start of the championship.
"Having taken major steps in learning what is required to win matches, more ingenuity may be required for this to become a great Scotland team, but the potential is clearly there," Mr Ferrie said.
The encounter also marked an unhappy final match at Croke Park for the Irish, who had made the ground a fortress since first playing Six Nations games there in 2007 but will return to the rebuilt and renamed Landsdowne Road, now known as Aviva Stadium, in 2011.
