Gloucester prop Greg Somerville has confirmed his move to join the brand new Melbourne Storm franchise at the end of the season.

The Super 14 is exanpding into the Super 15 as of next season and Head Coach Rod MacQueen is busy putting together a squad that can compete for the 2011 season.

Somerville commented on his move from the west country outfit "I've loved every minute of my time with Gloucester, I just feel that now is the right time for my family to be nearer home, particularly with our third child being born just before Christmas.

"I'm really looking forward to working with Rod Macqueen in helping establish a brand new Super Rugby team."

Somerville joins other high profile signings including mercurial fly half Danny Cipriani, Gareth Delve and former Wallaby captain Stirling Mortlock at the new franchise.
