Lions will aim to put last week's agonising defeat against Chiefs behind them this Friday when they take on Hurricanes in Wellington.

Last weekend Lions conceded nine tries, despite scoring the same number of five pointers themselves, but still came out on the losing side in the highest-scoring game in the history of Super rugby in which Stephen Donald scored 32 points.

Now coach Dick Muir has blamed the new-look side and untested combinations on the defeat but has warned that the Lions will be generating their own storm against Hurricanes in New Zealand.

"There's been some confusion around our structures - how we want to attack and defend. We've talked about the defence and I believe the issues have been sorted out. We'll be rock-solid this weekend," he promised.

Meanwhile, Hurricanes duo Jason Eaton and Cory Jane have urged the home support to get behind their fans and cheer them on against the Lions when the sides square off on Friday.
