It is up in the air whether the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) will take action against Quade Cooper in light of his recent arrest for burglary.

The 21-year-old is expected to plead not guilty to the charge against him when the case resumes in July next year, but what everyone is wondering is whether the Queensland Red will be allowed to play until then.

In the past, the ARU has proven to be particularly strict when it has deemed someone to have brought the sport into disrepute - and rightly so.

And the incident has certainly brought some unwelcome attention to the game.

But would it be fair to force Cooper to sit on the sidelines when nothing has been proven against him?

The fly-half himself has said he is keen to keep going, although he doesn't seem certain that it'll happen.

"I'd love to play football. That's what I love to do," he commented. "I hope everything works out for the best."ADNFCR-2652-ID-19508088-ADNFCR
