With the Super 14 season just two rounds in, Sharks should not be written of just yet, according to Jannie du Plessis.

The sharks prop was referring to the negativity surrounding the team's form in their homeland but said they will aim to turn a corner in the clash against Crusaders on Friday.

"To paraphrase Naas Botha and what he said about the Currie Cup all those years ago, the Super 14 is not won in February, it is won in May, by the team playing the best rugby at that time," he told the Independent Online.

Du Plessis added that the Reds' "whacking" of the Crusaders last week illustrates that there will be upsets aplenty this season, with more likely this weekend.

Meanwhile, Andy Goode is set to make his debut for John Plumtree's side on Friday but his appearance will be off the bench, with the former England fly-half looking to make an impact in the second 40 minutes.
