Adam Freier has signed for the Melbourne Rebels for the coming Super 15 season in 2011.

Freier joins the Rebels having spent 9 seasons at the New South Wales Waratahs, latterly as captain, and having featured in 25 test matches for Australia.

Freier had lsot his wallaby place in recent seasons and is looking to this opportunity to establish himself once again in the national side.

He commented "“I still have a burning aspiration to play in the green and gold."

“If I didn’t I would probably have gone to Europe. Over the last two years, when forced to sit on the sidelines, my passion for the game has increased, not waned."

Freier joins former Wallaby skipper Stirling Mortlock and England media darling Danny Cipriani in joining the Rebels for next seasons expanded Super 15 competition.
