Former New Zealand All Black star Andrew Mehrtens has signed a three year contract to play for Beziers in the french third division.

Mehrtens had been playing his rugby with Top 14 side Racing Metro but did not have his contract renewed for the coming season.

Bezier also announced that following the end of the three year deal, Mehrtens will remain with the club to take up a coaching role.

The South African born (but New Zealand qualified) fly half had a glittering All Black career spanning 70 caps and was the leading points scorer with 967 for the All Blacks until Dan Carter over took his record.
